Daniel Cooney is the creator of the crime fiction comic book series VALENTINE, THE ATOMIC YETI and the forthcoming graphic novel THE TOMMY GUN DOLLS, as well as the artist and author for the instructional books WRITING AND ILLUSTRATING THE GRAPHIC NOVEL and THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO FIGURE DRAWING FOR COMICS AND GRAPHIC NOVELS by BARRON'S.
Illustration work includes: licensed properties for LUCASFILM, AMC, NBC UNIVERSAL, MARVEL, DC COMICS for Topps, UpperDeck and Rittenhouse Archives. Cooney studied sequential art and illustration at The School of Visual Arts earning his BFA in 1998.
Cooney resides in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts with his wife, Carolina, their sons, Dashiell and Dexter, and their cat Greenly Beans.
Self-publishing my work since my debut comic book, Valentine at Comic-Con International in San Diego, the crime fiction series, Valentine. Writer, Artist, Letterer and editor. Published a second title, The Atomic Yeti, I authored the story, Penciled the cover, Inks by Bill Reinhold, colors by Paul Mounts, logo design by me. The Tommy Gun Dolls, a 1920s burlesque crime drama is coming out this summer, my first self-published graphic novel. I've freelanced for other creator-owned comics, illustrated cover and spot art for authors and designed logos.
